Our
Process
We love
building sheds
We love building, and it shows. Our products are built to stand the test of time. We promise that you’ll never have to lift up on the handle, twist it just right, and hip-check a door to get it closed, because at 805 Sheds, quality craftsmanship is priority #1. Whether you’re looking for a standard utility shed for your tools, or a custom structure with all the bells and whistles, let 805 Sheds build you a quality product with top-notch service.
Onsite Construction and Assembly
Our carpenters will show up at your house in the morning with all the materials and build your shed as quickly as possible, so you can start enjoying it. In most situations, the shed walls, doors, roof trusses, corner boards, and other components are preassembled in our shops. The controlled environment of our shops allows us to build to a high standard of quality in a repetitive fashion to deliver quality structures.
Solid Concrete Block Footings
Unless your structure requires something more robust, like a concrete pad or piers, we build our sheds on solid concrete blocks. These blocks can take the weight of the shed and allow us to keep the shed slightly above ground level to prevent rot or insect damage.
2x6 Floor Joists 16" oc and 3/4" Plywood Floor Sheathing
We use pressure treated 2×6 floor joists in all our sheds. Many shed companies only use 2x4s. We support the 2x6s with concrete blocks in many locations to minimize bounce in the floor. This makes being in the shed a more pleasant experience and adds to its longevity. 3/4″ plywood is the same plywood used in house flooring, whereas some shed companies only use 1/2” or 5/8”.
2x4 Wall Construction
Our walls are framed with 2×4 every 24”. This is up to code for one-story structures in the state of California. We can space studs at 16” as an upgrade and recommend it if planning on finishing off with drywall.
Our doors have a locking tee handle with keys
Our doors come with black locking T handles secured with 2-inch screws.
Gable Vents
We include 2 4”x16” vents on all sheds to help circulate air and let the hot air escape.
30 Year Architectural Shingles
We offer a large variety of shingle colors from Owens Corning and Certainteed.
LP Smartside Wall Panels & Trim
Our standard siding is LP Smartside. These 4×8 sheets are an exterior grade panel pre-painted with a natural tan color. It is treated so it will not absorb water.
Like the siding panels, LP trim is a pre-painted tan color and is designed to last much longer than the regular wood trim.
4" Roof Overhangs
4″ overhang around the roofline to help shed the rain away from the siding, doors, and windows, prolonging the shed’s longevity.
